My Story
My passion for the visual arts was realized while creating a documentary for an environmental action class at university in Colorado. Relocating to New York City to pursue video work, I was fortunate to land an assistant job shooting the Macy's Parade with an established midtown Manhattan photography studio. I hustled my way into a full time assistant position, and eventually progressed to become the studio manager and an associate photographer, shooting high profile events and portraits across Manhattan. After several formative years with the studio, I started sdp photography. Continuing to shoot events and portraits, I also circled back with my video and tv contacts and began shooting set stills on television shows, notably for Food Network, Travel Channel, and National Geographic Channel, among others.

I captured my first wedding on a hilltop farm in Vermont, between a stock car driver and a professional skier, leaving the experience pleasantly surprised by just how much I loved the work. Upon shifting my base to Portland, Maine, I dove in to photographing weddings with a purpose, joining a well established boutique wedding studio for three years. Back to shooting exclusively for sdp photography in 2015, I have captured gorgeous weddings up and down the coast of Maine, across New England, in New York City, and as far off as Puerto Rico. My passion for collaborating with people, and for capturing the moments and images that are important to those people, are the forces that drive my work and inform my photographic eye.
